WIWW: Cobalt, Black & White

Happy Hump Day all!! Spring is slowly making an appearance and I’m putting myself in a good mood by dressing up a little!

Everyone, who’s anyone, knows that Black & White is huge for Spring this year! I, for one, am loving the trend! I thrifted this cute little blouse a month or so ago. I wore it one other time but hated the styling that day, enter cobalt cardigan to the rescue. I really liked the way this outfit turned out, simple but with a color pop.

Cardigan & Blouse – Thrifted, Trousers – JCP, Broach – Grandmothers, Loafer Wedges – Target

The addition of the belt gave the appearance of a peplum and who doesn’t love a good peplum these days?! I was really happy to wear my grandmothers broach too. Hair cut happening Friday…I’m thinking shorter with layers or just more layers…maybe bangs?!?! Any suggestions?

Pattern Mixing: Snow Edition

Snow in many parts of the country is a common winter occurrence, but in East TN it’s a big deal! Today we woke to a beautiful blanket (i.e. dusting!) of the white stuff, however the roads were clear so it was business as usual. If you look closely you can see it swirling in my photos too!

Argyle & Polka Dots

Sweater, Blouse & Skirt – Thrifted, Tights – Target, Boots – Amazon

As is becoming a trend, this outfit looks better in person than in photos! Because of the cold and snow, I wanted to feel warm and cozy so I went with my cashmere argyle sweater over a denim shirt. I thrifted this great polka dot skirt on a recent thrifting trip. It’s too big and too long, almost a midi length.

Argyle & Polka Dots

I’m not sure if I want to take it in and keep the original shape as a straight pencil skirt or if I want to completely change the look by adding pleats in the front and back? Its a flowy skirt, more of a summer weight than winter or fall. Until I decide, I just belted it for today. The thicker sweater tights and tall boots help to keep my legs warm and dry too.

Wishing for Sping in Animal Print

I know everyone is wishing for spring, especially with all the great spring fashions hitting the stores and blogs everywhere! I’m not immune to these beautiful spring designs either, but my budget is, LOL! So I’m shopping to my closet to remix what I’ve got!

Animal Print Black & Pink

Blazer – JCP (old), Leopard Tank – Target, Pants – Thrifted, Boots – Easy Spirit

I thought I’d remix my animal print tank with these pink pants and black blazer! I kept the makeup fairly simple too but added a red lip and last night I did my nails in red again. Red nails are so classic, so I thought I’d keep them beyond Valentine’s Day.

This polish is from Wet N Wild (via Walgreen’s), but it doesn’t stink that bad and it lasts for days! I saw a trick to making your nail polish last longer, paint the tips with a different color. I’m thinking silver tips or maybe pale pink in a few days, what do you think?
