Minty Colbalt Take Two – Grey Edition

Happy Monday Y’all! Hope you all had a great weekend! I’m not 100% yet, but getting a little better each day. We had a hectic weekend with a birthday party, cleaning house and playing outside with the dog, along with some much needed naps!

With all that did get accomplished this weekend, my putting together a few outfits for the week just didn’t happen. Luckily I remembered I put this one together and just hadn’t worn it yet. I thrifted this cobalt skirt on my last thrifting trip for about $1.50 and have been ecstatic to wear it. I paired it with my minty lace tee and grey blazer – both thrifted items too. I have been perusing Pinterest for other ways to wear this cobalt skirt this spring. I really want to find either a great floral blouse or floral blazer or maybe both!

It was warm enough today so that I went with bare legs, please forgive the extreme whiteness. I did get a few compliments though despite my blinding legs!

I’m also linking up with these lovely ladies today too!

The Sun Came Out…

… so the FO photos are here! Guinevere – Secret of the Stole!

The wind was blowing, so they aren’t the greatest and it’s so cold out! Thank goodness for being home during the day or else I would have never gotten these today. I’m going to be lazy and not list all the specs again for this one. It was certainly a fun knit and now I think I’m hooked on lace knitting! Ice Queen here I come!

Also on the job hunting news, I went for an interview today with the local utilities board for Knox County. I had a phone interview with their HR director on Monday and then got a call back to schedule a panel interview for today. The panel interview wasn’t as bad as I originally thought it would be, so that was a blessing. I don’t know how many applicants they had or what the competition is like, so I have no idea if I will get the job or not. I think I would really like for work for this company though. The position sounds challenging, yet I can do everything they require and would have the opportunity to take classes and learn more. We will see next week if I move to the next phase – a personality test. Any prayers or good thoughts would be much appreciated too! 😉

Guinevere – Secret of the Stole FO

Wow, I haven’t had one of these (FO) in a while, but here she is – Guinevere!

Secret of the Stole - End to beginning Secret of the Stole - Begin to end

Pattern: Secret of the Stole – Guinevere by DK the Nautical Knitter
Yarn: Knit Picks Shadow in Sunset – only 2 skeins
Needles: Knit Picks Options – size 4
Modifications: None really to speak of, unless you count the mistakes! LOL I did add a few more beads in places, but nothing major.

I do apologize if the photos are a bit dark, but I was taking them last night around 1:00am! I finished around 9:00pm, she had a good wash and block. Now I just need to weave in a couple of ends and I can wear it Friday night! As with most lace knits, it’s light and airy – yet warm too. I realized just how badly I need to get some blocking wires or have my Dad make a blocking frame for me (hint – this would be a nice Christmas present Dad). I dried the dental floss on one side and it did do better than the pinned-only side, so I can definitely see how much wires would help.

There are more photos on my Flickr account, but I will leave you with another photo of the last clues.

Now on to more Christmas knitting….

Halloween Greetings!

Thrilling Halloween Halloween Images

Happy Thursday everyone! I am so glad the weekend is almost here again. Although some moving will take place again this weekend, we don’t have near as much planned and I don’t have as many deadlines hanging over me at work. Maybe we’ll take a nice long hike Saturday with our dogs and enjoy some of the fall colors. I’ve been itching to cook or bake something but I just haven’t had the time. There are so many great dishes, breads, and other goodies being served up around the blogoshpere lately!

So last night I wound up two skeins of the KnitPicks Shadow yarn I showed you recently and I wound up some of the Cascade Pastaza, this is the yarn my wonderful SP Robin sent me. I just might cast-on for the Cozy V-neck sweater soon. When I get special yarns, for some reason I just don’t want to touch them until just the right moment. I couldn’t bring myself to knit with this yarn all summer, mostly because I was afraid of messing it up if my hands got sweaty. I know, paranoid! This stuff was like butta as I wound it up last night. Perfect for cool fall knitting! I do want to get started on the Secret Stole soon too. The KP Shadow didn’t feel as nice as the JaggerSpun Zephyr silk-wool blend I am using for the MS3, but the colors are gorgeous. The second clue comes out tomorrow so I better get started!

Happy knitting!
