Happy Halloween 2013!

halloween, cowboy, Duck Dynasty

1st up we have my Caveman as a Cowboy! 2nd up, Caveboy as a lumberjack/Duck Dynasty cast member!

Please forgive the quality of these photos, but it was the end of the day and we were attempting to beat the rain that was threatening in order to get a few photos. Also I thought it would be beautiful to take our photos in front of this burning bush, but my poor cell phone camera couldn’t quite handle the vibrant reds.

I used this tutorial to make Caveboy’s beard! I love Ashley‘s blog, she has the best tutorials and check out her kids Halloween costumes! They are amazing. This little beard took me about 30 minutes to make the other night, with Caveboy jumping up and down, crying to wear his beard the whole time!! LOL Patience, he has yet to master!

My Halloween outfit and Caveboy and I

Fall has exploded with some beautiful colors this week and hotter than normal temps!

If you follow me over on Instagram you will see a few other fall photos I’ve taken on my daily walk to school. Not much has been happening other than work, school, family – repeat! I’ve survived 3 exams thus far this semester. Just wanted to drop in quickly today with a little update! I’m looking forward to the holidays just to I can slow down some!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween and Fall so far!!

WIWW: Black & White with Color Pops!

Happy Wednesday Y’all!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love the Black & White trend this spring! Obviously, I’ve unofficially made this Black & White week around here but I just can’t help it. 🙂

It literally took me 5 minutes to throw this outfit together this morning. Black & White – check, Lace top – check, Color Pops – check. I love when you’re running late, but you can still throw an outfit like this together.

With fickle spring weather here, layers are your friend. This lace top is not only breezy but is also sleeveless, so to make this office friendly tolerable I added a bright blue cardigan and some fun yellow accessories. I love wearing my sandals now too!

What about you guys, has spring sprung in your neck of the woods? I hope so!

Black & White Pattern Mixing

Happy Monday! I’m still lovin’ the Black & White trend this spring. The weather cooled back down after a storm we had so I needed a cardigan, but I was able to rock my sandals!! 😀

Black & White, Stripes, Floral, DIY Statement Necklace

Cardigan & Striped Tee – Thrifted, Skirt – Chadwicks (old), Sandals – Shoe Show, DIY Statement Necklace & Bracelet – Handmade by Me

Today I feel as though I have successfully pulled off the pattern mixing trend for which stripes & florals are always a good choice. I’m also wearing my DIY Statement Necklace and Bracelet that I made recently from this Pin. These added a nautical flare to my outfit! BW-stripesNfloral Linking up with these beauties today! Black, White & Green Mini

Happy Monday Y’all! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I’m not sure, but I think I might have told you I’m in love with the Black & White trend! LOL, I’m sure I have and seriously, I can’t get enough. I love to play along with the Coast 2 Coast Gals for the #coasttocoastchallenge on Instagram and last Thursday’s #coasttocoastchallenge was Black & White! I couldn’t resist so here’s my outfit.

B&Wmini

I picked up this mini skirt a few weeks ago at Target. I bought it in a larger size because I wanted it to sit on my hips. Mini skirts have always been out of my comfort zone, but I just couldn’t resist this fab little skirt – especially at $6.98. The material has a slub texture to it and there is a lime green color along with the black & white and metallic silver!

Also – please excuse the hair, it was a long day and I could only get photos after I got home due to the rain.

I think this will be a great skirt to wear with a chambray shirt and tank top this spring or a lime green tank/blouse this summer and some cute black or silver sandals! I’m sure you’ll be seeing it again soon. 😉

WIWW: Cobalt, Black & White

Happy Hump Day all!! Spring is slowly making an appearance and I’m putting myself in a good mood by dressing up a little!

Everyone, who’s anyone, knows that Black & White is huge for Spring this year! I, for one, am loving the trend! I thrifted this cute little blouse a month or so ago. I wore it one other time but hated the styling that day, enter cobalt cardigan to the rescue. I really liked the way this outfit turned out, simple but with a color pop.

Cardigan & Blouse – Thrifted, Trousers – JCP, Broach – Grandmothers, Loafer Wedges – Target

The addition of the belt gave the appearance of a peplum and who doesn’t love a good peplum these days?! I was really happy to wear my grandmothers broach too. Hair cut happening Friday…I’m thinking shorter with layers or just more layers…maybe bangs?!?! Any suggestions?
